    Japanese sake & food journalist, local brand advisor
    Yamamoto-san was born in Sakaiminato City, Tottori. Her interest in local foods drew led her to becoming editor-in-chief of a magazine about traditional Japanese foods, featuring stories on soshoku (simple vegetable dishes), macrobiotics, brown rice grains, vegetables, traditional fermented seasonings, and sake rice. More recently, she has made supporting the 'forgotten local food treasures' her life's work. Her motto is: "let's think about the future of rice paddies. Drink a cup of sake a day, and the future of rice paddies will be secure." Her book, A Select Guide to Japanese Sake, was published by Sekaibunka-sha.
